The power of "no"

You cannot say YES until you can say NO!!!!
How many repressed NOs do YOU have?
How many times did you want to say NO when you couldn’t shouldn’t or weren’t allowed........as a child , a teenager, an adult or..... yesterday ???!!!!!!
How many times have you placated, appeased and been the YES person while smiling away your pain and anger.
How many times have you sacrificed your honor and truth to make others happy?
Put others needs and wants before your own....
Put yourself last....
Release your inner NOs!!!!!!
Get in touch with the inner two year old who wants to draw her boundaries and say NO!!!!!!
Here’s a great exercise to help.
Sit in front of a mirror and say NO for 5 minutes......when it elicits an emotional response let it flow and keep on going.....
Let em fly!!!!!!
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
Beware.... this is powerful.
You will be surprised at the energy that is underneath those NOs!!!!
When you can honor yourself and your truth and stand strong and firm in your NOs...
When you can draw boundaries without guilt....
The you can allow yourself to be truly vulnerable and honest and connected to your true and authentic self!!!!!!
No more walls will be needed thank you very much....
And your YES will feel more powerful than it ever has.
Say YES to life!!!!!
Start losing those bottled up NOs today!!!!!

In the Cocoon

Sometimes we are in so much emotional pain that we feel we are being punished. Then we begin beating ourselves up for all we have "done" adding insult to injury. We feel powerless like we are at the bottom of an emotional cesspool gasping for air. And the weight of the world has just decided to rest on our chest.... the heaviness feels unbearable. We've all been there. It's life......
Now.... here's where the Beautiful concept of perspective comes in handy.
Let's take the example of the butterfly.
The metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly is NOT a pretty, relaxing, carefree experience full of love happiness rainbows and joy.
It is gruesome and if it weren't for something called the juvenile hormone it would kill the caterpillar.
Literally, every cell of the caterpillar self destructs and all of its tissues disintegrate into a protein rich SOUP that becomes the building blocks of the butterfly.
Does that sounds fun? Enjoyable?
Easy? Well neither is self growth.
Metamorphosis is not just a physical transformation.
It's also a behavioral transformation in the sense that the caterpillar and the butterfly ALSO behave differently.
One lives in trees and the other flies.
One eats leaves and the other eats nectar.
BUT..... in order for this transformation to take place the caterpillar self destructs one cell at a time.
When we are in pain, we are in the cocoon being transformed.
So instead of wallowing in our self-pity, or beating ourselves up with the should'ves could'ves and ought to haves, or feeling like a victim of this horrible terrible no good world.....
BE IN IT.... absorb, swim in and splash around in the soup of your melancholy, your pain, your grief and your anger......
Ask yourself ...
"what is my lesson here"?
"What part of me is growing"?
"What inner child wound is asking to be healed"?
"WHAT is MY silver lining"?????
"What are my choices?..... and the rewards and consequences of those"?
Own that.
Be conscious of that.
The caterpillar is part of a Devine plan of which it has no control.
No matter how hard it might try to screw up the plan, consciously or unconsciously, it WILL ultimately become a butterfly.
We do NOT have the power to screw up our divine plan.
We only have the choice to make it harder or easier on ourselves.
Have faith.
Be in your cocoon. Rest. Love yourself. And be divinely rebuilt.
